1. What is Needles and Prayers?
Needles and prayers is a group of individuals who get together to knit and crochet items for charity.
2. Do I need my own needles and yarn?
Members use their own needles and yarn, or there are needles and yarn which have been donated that you could also use.
3. What if I don’t knit or crochet?
Then what better atmosphere to learn than with a large group whose members have all sorts of experience and stories to share! Join us and we’ll teach you.
4. When do they meet?
Members meet at the church on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month following the Wednesday night dinners at the church. On the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesday of the month, they meet at Patsy Woods’ home at 7 pm.
5. What types of items are made and where do they go?
a. Stoma Covers for Grady Hospital respiratory therapy unit
b. Hats, scarves, neck warmers for Grace UMC H.E.L.P. ministry.
c. Baby blankets, hats, booties, sweaters for Grady Hospital and Mary’s Cradle of Bluefield, WV
d. Children’s hats and scarves for The Community Crossing of Welch, WV.
e. Prayer shawls for shut-ins and members of Grace UMC who need healing.
f. Other items are considered on an as requested basis.
